Two Minutes Or Twenty?

by Edward

If you want to maximize the power of your self-healing work, you need to know how long to spend with each guided imagery session.

Short imagery sessions are typically two to five minutes long, while longer ones are twenty to sixty minutes. Both are important, but they need to be used appropriately.

Advantages of short imagery sessions

  • Less time required per session
  • Less concentration needed
  • Gives intention laser like focus
  • Resolves acute symptoms more quickly
  • Can do more per day for enhanced benefit

Advantages of longer imagery sessions

  • Allows you to go into a deeper state of meditation
  • Better for resolving emotional aspects of health issues
  • Better for healing chronic health issues
  • Improves ability to do shorter sessions
  • Develops concentration and visualization skill

In general for acute problems, it is best to do four to ten short sessions per day. This is the best way to relieve headaches, allergy symptoms, etc.

For more chronic problems one or two longer sessions plus two or three short sessions works well.

To develop and improve your skill in doing healing visualizations, do one or two longer sessions per week, plus at least one short session every day.
